International Art Exchange with Korea
Five talented young artists from Korea presented a show of original works of painting and drawing at Fairleigh Dickinson University's Metropolitan Campus in February as part of a new artistic exchange with Sangmyung University of Seoul. The exhibit, titled "I IN YOU, YOU IN I", will be on display in the Art Gallery in University Hall. The participating Korean artists -- Choi Min Hee, Kim Ji Un, Kim Min Young, Son Ji Won, and Sung Da Na -- were accompanied by their teacher, Professor Hyunjung Jeon.
Their visit included opportunities to explore the New York City art world with their American peers. Both Korean and American art students enjoyed a special guest lecture by Dr. Phil Lee of Sangmyung University, titled "Korean Journeys to International Art: The New York School."

The exchange project was the initiative of Professor Sun Hee Yoon, Adjunct Professor of Art in the School of Art and Media Studies. The FDU student group's show could be seen on the Metropolitan Campus from November 25 to December 20, 2013, in the Giotto library. From March 31 to April 14, 2014, the show will travel to Gallery Zero at Sangmyung University in Seoul, Korea. FDU artists participating in the show include Keith Richard Griffiths, Ester Paulino, Tamia Monet Jones, Alexandra Dawybida, Deborah Hong, and Jennifer McDaniel.

According to Professor Yoon, who was instrumental in developing the relationship with Sangmyung University, "This is the first such international exchange of art that FDU has participated in."  Professor Karen Buzzard, Director of the School of Art and Media Studies, added, "Displaying their work in Korea represents a very special opportunity for our art students. I hope that this will be the first of many such opportunities."
